Dates: Saturday, November 7 (10 am – 5 pm) and Sunday, November 8 (10 am – 4 pm)
Event: Caledon Art and Wine Festival
Location: Caledon State Park, 11617 Caledon Rd, King George, VA 22485
Our final demonstration of the year is one of our favorites! Join the Fredericksburg Spinners and Weavers Guild at the Caledon Art and Wine Festival for two days of fiber arts in a beautiful fall setting. This is always a fun event. Stop by our booth to see how fiber becomes yarn, cloth, and finished pieces.
Possible techniques you will see at our booth
- Spinning: How fiber is drafted and twisted into yarn on a drop spindle and spinning wheel.
- Weaving: How warp and weft come together on a loom to create fabric.
- Knitting and crochet: How yarn becomes hats, scarves, and more.
- Felting: How wool fibers lock together into a dense fabric.
Members: we need volunteers!
We need volunteers to cover both days of the festival. Keren will have the sign-up list at our Guild meeting on Saturday, so please stop by and pick a shift.
