It’s almost time to elect our guild officers! This year, voting will be held entirely online through ElectionBuddy, a secure voting service used by nonprofits, clubs, and associations. Here’s what to expect.
Key dates
- Sunday, November 1 at 12:00 AM: Voting opens. Every member will receive a ballot email from ElectionBuddy.
- Monday, November 9: A reminder email goes out, only to members who haven’t voted yet.
- Thursday, November 12 at 11:59 PM: Voting closes.
- Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 AM: Results announced at the guild meeting in the theater room at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, Fredericksburg branch.
Watch for your ballot email
On November 1, look for an email from ElectionBuddy with your personal voting link. If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk folder. Click the link and you’ll go straight to your ballot, where you can see each candidate’s photo and bio.
Good to know
- Your link is yours alone. It works only once, so please don’t forward it.
- Your vote is secret. No one, including the board and the election administrators, can see how you voted.
- One member, one vote. Ballots go only to current members on our roster.
- Vote from anywhere. A phone, tablet, or computer all work, and it only takes a couple of minutes.
- Not ready to choose in a race? You can select Abstain for that position.
Why the change?
This year we have a contested race, and our members and candidates deserve a process built for it. ElectionBuddy keeps every ballot secret, makes sure each member votes only once, and produces results that can be independently verified.
