May 2-3, 2026 Join Us for the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival 2026!
Dear Fellow Fiber Enthusiasts,
Mark your calendars for an unforgettable weekend of woolly wonders! The 53rd Annual Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival returns on May 2-3, 2026, at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, MD.
This beloved event is one of the largest fiber arts festivals in the country, celebrating everything from hoof to handwoven. Whether you’re a seasoned spinner, knitter, weaver, felter, or just starting your fiber journey, there’s truly something for everyone.

Imagine wandering through hundreds of vendor booths overflowing with luxurious yarns, rovings, fleeces, spinning wheels, looms, dyes, patterns, and tools. You’ll find rare breeds of sheep on display (this year featuring the Scottish Blackface!), thrilling sheepdog demonstrations, sheep shearing, competitions like sheep-to-shawl, and so much more. It’s a massive marketplace where there’s hardly a fiber arts or sheep-related item you won’t discover!
Our guild traditionally makes this a highlight of the year! We have a dedicated group staying for the full weekend, sharing accommodations, meals, and endless fiber fun. There are also options for day trippers to join the adventure. It’s the perfect chance to shop to your heart’s content while deepening friendships with your fellow guild members—laughing over hauls, swapping tips, and inspiring each other.
Tickets are on sale now via the official site at sheepandwool.org or directly through Eventbrite. Plan ahead, as this festival draws thousands of passionate fiber lovers!
Interested in joining the guild group? Contact Mary Snellings for all the details on weekend stays, carpools, day trips, and more.
We can’t wait to see you there, surrounded by all things soft, fluffy, and creative!
Happy stitching,
Your Guild Media Team
